For the life of me, I can’t figure out why more recorder players don’t play this repertoire! Wonderful music by good composers, written for the recorder by Walter Leigh, Hans Ulrich Staeps, Sir Lennox Berkeley, Paul Hindemith, Harald Genzmer and Paul Angerer. Thanks to the American Recorder Society for the Recording Grant which assisted me in getting this CD out into the world!

The samples here include movements from sonatas by Berkeley and Leigh, played with pianist Alayne Hall, and two of Staeps’s Reihe kleiner Duette played with Colin Savage. Natalie Michaud also appears on this recording in the Hindemith and Angerer trios.

Originally released on the Atma label, this disc is now available through Pipistrelle Music here::http://www.pipistrellemusic.com/alison-melville/fruit-of-a-different-vine/
